Somebody added the snow falling.. It wasn't me that did it.. I think it was done by someone at Google plus.. Pretty cool idea, I wish I had thought of it.. and for that matter knew how to do it..

Hard to visualize through the ozone layer

Last week I was of all places in the shower.. And the song Free Four from the album Obscured By  Clouds popped into my head.. In the never ending jukebox that is my head this song popped in and ..  I hadn't heard the song in quite some time, and have no idea why it would have made it's way into a play list on my jukebox.. I'm glad it did though.. So I listened to it.. Then found it on the computer here and listened to it for real.. Quite a good song.. Then I started to think of the album it came from, I instantly knew the album, when you are a fan of any band you know what album it is from, and even though it's been a while you remember which side it was on.. Side two second track behind Childhoods End..   This album was an early favorite, in fact between it and Meddle I like the two quite the same.. It is the more overlooked album mostly I suppose because of the success of Dark Side Of The Moon.. but there are two ways of knowing or being a fan of Pink Floyd, it's the measure stick of most bands, the before this album or event and after this album or event.. In the case of KISS it would be before ALIVE!  and after.. With Pink Floyd it is before Dark Side and after.. I do remember cranking their early material with it's oddity of sounds and sound collages  equally with their more progressive material..

So can you hear the next album they would produce in there??  I had always asserted that I could hear the next album in some way by a lot of groups I have been into.. The next logical step.. I wasn't sure what was next, was it Atom Heart Mother or was it Meddle.. I had forgotten so I got out one of my trusty history of PF books.. Turns out it was neither of these two albums but rather the Dark Side Of The Moon.. Sandwiched  between Meddle and Dark Side.. Sorry I had forgotten.. (Hate to admit it..)

The legend grows as the time fades.. Pink Floyd are enjoying more fame now that they may never work together again.. They are gods like with any and all material from all of their catalog and now it seems they are gaining popularity with their solo works as each and every members solo material seems to be gaining in popularity.. All five members solo works are being found out again more than likely by yet another generation..   "Hey mom.. dad  who is Pink Floyd?"...  They smile at each other with the knowledge that this was the question put to them more than just once...
