IT'S THE LEFT FOOT

I read this today and thought "hu, and everybody wants to elect a republican president again?" :

"looks like wall street is hell bent on our country winning it...
the recent recession wiped out nearly two decades of americans’ wealth, according to government data released monday, with middle-class families bearing the brunt of the decline.
the federal reserve said the median net worth of families plunged by 39 percent in just three years, from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010. that puts americans roughly on par with where they were in 1992. - wapo"

They keep saying they want to have fewer regulations well maybe they should just be let free to try to ruin the country completely this time..  They almost did it before, maybe they will get it right this time..  And blame the president that's in there now, yeah that makes sense..

It's good to have a short term memory, people tend to forget when things started to go bad, but things weren't great under GWB  by any stretch of the imagination.. And things were heading south by the end of Clintons second term, I admit that and he was a      democrat, yes but things were set in motion for the way the economy would implode by   Regan when he deregulated the banks and wall street.. And he was a     wait for it... A   republican...That's right and so here we are going full circle to where we are today. Mitt will fix the economy all right.. On the backs of the ever shrinking middle class..

"the must read opinion piece by nobel prize winning economist, joseph e. stiglitz
economic inequality feeds into inequalities of political power, leading to still more economic inequality. the u.s. is headed down the path that so many dysfunctional societies have traveled — divided societies in which the rich and poor live in different worlds. the rich residing in gated communities, with their own parks and schools.
we know what happens to these societies. it’s not something to which we should aspire.  - politico"

"and, apparently fires are a threat to the security of the homeland.

the department of homeland Security meanwhile said it was working closely with emergency services tackling wildfires in a number of western states also including arizona, california, utah and wyoming.
in all 19 active large fires were burning in nine states, "including one of the largest wildfires in new mexico history and one of the largest wildfires in colorado history," it said. and some 4,500 extra firefighters have been dispatched by federal agencies, which are also providing emergency funding to help states cope with the costs of tackling mass blazes. - the telegraph"

I saw these three stories via RSS reader and thought they warranted posting here.. I don't want to get into the habit  of reposting from other sites, that was where I went wrong on the munkey cage site..

My take on the continued economy going south is the part after the quotes (" ")  on the story..  I do believe that while Reagan might have had good intentions with deregulating the financial institutions, that when things started to go south (the too big to fail syndrom) that should have been an indicator to change back and we had any number of times that things went off track before the big collapse in the last decade there.. Blaming Obama seems like the right thing to do but it's like blaming the head coach of a football team that is losing when the owners and front office are more to blame..

As far as the polico struggles are concerned: If we can't come together except in times of struggle and strife than we will never be a great country.. We were great at the great war (WW II) and then again when we went to the moon but even when we went to the moon we were starting down the current path.. We will never get back to the moon in anyones lifetime unless there is a lot of money to be made from it..

Finally the fires are burning again.. I remember last year when the fires were "the largest EVER"  well this year the fires are the largest ever again and like last year we hear the great reports of loss of structures and the local news people being there.. I heard last year that they said one of the fires would likely burn until the first snow fell.. My point being we rarely see on the front page that the fire is under complete control or is out.. I guess we just assume the fire is out.. Eventually I guess...

The Browser really acted up last night.. I had just gotten done with an entry and was trying to finish up like I normally do every night and Firefox kept crashing.. This went on for twelve times.. The way it happened was like this: I had a link I wanted via torrent and it wouldn't take.. The link was fine I thought so what could be the problem??  The browser would have the (not responding) on the top and when that happens I grow impatient with it getting it's traction back and keep the task manager open at all times because hitting the red X in the upper right hand corner won't shut some programs down... So I use the task manager to make sure the browser is shut down.. Then restart it up.. In Firefox there is a restart from last point when you do that and so I don't have to go and restart and get what I had there.. In this case two hole pages which didn't include the homepage, when the browser acts up like this I know the first thing to ditch is the homepage knowing it robs so much in resources.. So just what was the things problem?? I mean talk about  a major POS (Piece of Shit) and I tried at least twelve times and the tried Aurora as a possible fix (since they are related they open to the same page just as if it was the browser I had open initially) and it did open the pages I was on and acted identically to FF.. So what gives here.. Aurora crashed, and I got it to shut down and then I opened FF again this time it sensed the crash and problems and opened in safe mode.. Crashed in safe mode and this went on for three or four more times.. Then it did what I dread, it locked up and there was no shutting it down and no movement.. AT ALL.. So what to do??  I pushed the power button on the tower.. Shutting the computer off might sound drastic and it is but I'd rather do that then stand back and wait an hour for the computer to unkink it's nut bag and start working again.. So when I got it  started back up there was a flash program that was updating.. Was this what was needed??  I tried a few things and yes the browser worked again.. More important earlier in the evening I tried to play a game of Scrabble and the game crashed several times in a row and so I knew there was likely a problem, but after this update everything seems to be working fine...
